About 80% of disease is preventable and yet the U.S. spends less than 5% of health care dollars on prevention, and very little on reversal – currently the healthcare system is designed around symptoms management.  In 2010, more than two thirds of the population was overweight and 53% had a chronic illness.  Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries among adults aged greater than 65.  During 2014, approximately 27,000 older adults died because of falls; 2.8 million were treated in emergency departments for fall-related injuries and approximately 800,000 of these patients were subsequently hospitalized.  With the rising costs of healthcare, you cannot afford not to engage in prevention.

Balanced Lifestyles’ mission is to help adult clients improve their health, and enhance the quality of life.  Our objective is to be, and become, directed toward the human aspect of wellness, emphasizing personal motivation to improve behaviors, education and awareness.

Balanced Lifestyles offers a wide range of solutions to many health related issues.  A Health Coach will work with you to define a vision, goals and objectives and to create a sustainable solution whether it be for individual or group coaching.

The Health Coach will share with you the importance of nutrition, exercise, and corrective exercise, healthy sleep patterns, and possibly introduce you to alternative and complementary health care.

For seniors, while on-site at a facility or your home, the Health Coach will work one-on-one with you, coaching you to improve the lifestyle behaviors that contribute to poor health or injury, i.e., lack of exercise and fitness, poor nutrition, and fall prevention.  Balanced Lifestyles assists in the goal setting process, answer questions, and provide educational guidance and on-going support.  

Balanced Lifestyles’ individual self-care protocols are built to your specifications and particular issues.  The Health Coach will analyze your current issues, and help you to design a health strategy from our offerings of nutrition, including label reading education and pre-diabetes strategies; corrective exercises, fall prevention, individualized personal training, and behavior modification, The Health Coach will work cohesively with your healthcare provider, or help you find one, to maximize your investment; and mostly importantly get, and keep, you in a state of well-being.

Balanced Lifestyles provides on-going training and coaching methodology and psychology as part of a “best-in-class” coaching skill set development program.
